FIRST FRIDAY
Traditionally, the first Friday of each month is a day of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Sacred Heart stands as a symbol of Jesus' love for us in dying for our redemption. Holy Communion is brought to the homebound. The Sacrament of Penance is celebrated preceding the Thursday and Friday Masses at St. Mary Magdalen.
FIRST SATURDAY
Special devotion to the Blessed Mother takes place on the first Saturday of each month. At 7:00 a.m., prior to the 7:30 Mass at St. Mary Magdalen, the Rosary is said for reparation of sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
PERPETUAL EUCHARIST ADORATION
Each year on May 1, we celebrate with a Mass of Thanksgiving the gift of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in our parish. This apostolate began May 1, 1990, and is located in the Eucharistic Chapel in the Parish Center (next to St. Mary Magdalen Church) on Church Street.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD
Children's Liturgy of the Word is held weekly at the 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church between September and May. All children, kindergarten through sixth grade, are encouraged to join the procession downstairs after the opening prayer. The liturgy consists of an age-appropriate presentation of the Sunday Scripture, music, a discussion of the Gospel, a Gospel-related activity, the Creed, and prayers. The children return to their parents during the offertory hymn.
BRINGING UP THE GIFTS
Bringing up the gifts at Mass is a wonderful way to participate in the Mass and be active members of our parish family. We encourage those who are having a Mass said for a family member on the weekend to bring up the gifts. If you are interested in helping, please contact an usher or call the parish office.
